Watch This: Modern Day Yakuza

Known for his atmospheric style to documentary film-making, director Luxe Huxham has returned with his new film, Black Business: Modern Day Yakuza. We are fortunate enough to live in an era where people like Huxham are capturing and sharing stories that, if not for people like him, would never have been seen by most. What makes the film amazing is the storytelling. The Yakuza are often portrayed as a brutal, international crime syndicate. But we never hear about the stories from within. It's not about cheaply humanizing them to attract empathy, but to show that their are dreams and stories on the inside of their walled garden. Check out the vide in its entirety and try to go back to your real world.

Vladimir Marti has a fantastic way of capturing people and delivering his vision in a creative manner. I mean, look at his site and try not to be taken back as the site just crumbles. The images this project are like his site: beautifully simple and attractive. You are pulled to the center of the images and forced to take in the colours. It's an excellent project that deserves your attention. Go ahead and check out the entire gallery.

Read This: How To Stop Giving A !@#$ What People Think

The more time you find yourself valuing the opinions of others, be it positive or negative, it's less time you're actually appreciating what's in front of you, and probably deserves your full attention. Progress is hindered by frivolous brain cycles wasted on what other people think of you and your work. Building a thick skin isn't easy, but when you get the hang of not giving a !@#$, you truly find your stride in making great things happen. This post goes over some great tips and here's what attracted me to the article in the first place:

No one really cares: Believe it or not, we’re not that special. We go through our days thinking about how other people might be judging us. But the truth is — those people are thinking the exact same thing. No one in today’s “smartphone crazed” society has time in their schedule to think more than a brief second about us. The fact of the matter is, when we do have time get our thoughts straight, we’re too busy thinking about ourselves and our own shortcomings — not others.

Check out the full article and go ahead, be yourself. Let yourself run free with creativity and strive to remove any obstacles that may slow you from being your best. Warning: when you get good at not caring for the opinions of most people, it may attract even more criticism. But if you've done your homework, this attention will only make you better at what you do.
