Visual artist based out of Vancouver, Sophia Ahamed has assembled some of the most amazing and poignant pieces I've ever come across. You owe it to yourself to visit her site and explore all her projects. What really stands out to me is helplessness that these images portray. Sophia has created a series of work that pulls emotions out of you as you stare at them. Truly, this is some phenomenal work.

Read This: Why Keep A Messy Desk

image.jpg

As made famous by Einstein, the saying goes, "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?" While there's always an allure of having that clean, modern working environment, there will always be that force that pulls creative minds toward chaos. And according to this post, that's okay. Commercial photography can range in depth and feeling. But what really astonishes me is the how some simple angles and lighting techniques can take a woman alone in a room, and transform them into some striking imagery. Now I'm sure a lot of time and resources (see: money) went into creating these images, however, they come across as what I would call, simply stunning. There is no extravagant set piece, it's a beautiful woman, in a room, and she demands your attention.

Watch This: Black Gold

image.jpg

PES has returned to deliver another great short. Titled Black Gold, the animation is equal parts magnetic and creepy. Following a golden beauty as she becomes one with nature, we see that decay of one being spark the growth of others. At least, that's what I got from this film. See for yourself, and try to extrapolate your own meaning. Enjoy.
