The idea of less is more gets tossed around a lot, but very few people actually understand what the term means. This week's Read This feature from the Chase Jarvis blog aims to explain why working a little less, and allocating that time to periods of rest can actually increase productivity. Furthermore, the post goes on to show nicely-diagramed examples of what this on-off work routine looks like. This method of work is something I truly believe in. I will wake up and clear a few mundane tasks (work), take a hot shower and prepare breakfast (rest), tackle some photography edits (work), and then dabble with a little Call of Duty (rest). While the idea of a hardcore FPS being used as a method of rest is debatable, the effectiveness of this routine is not. Give the blog post a read and try this technique out yourself.
